Cat Skiing — island lake lodge

About 40 years ago Catskiing started in Meadow Creek, just north of Kaslo B.C., in the Canadian Kootenays. Back then, catski operations  used to be simple, but the powderfun has clearly evolved into a proper holiday adventure. Catskiing is considered to be the fastest growing winter activity and a perfect alternative to Heliskiing. More and more powder enthusiasts enjoy this thrill every year.

A modern snowcat takes you to some epic backcountry wilderness terrain where fresh powder awaits you. A lead guide and tail guide are taking care of all safety aspects. Drop in and rip some of your best powderturns. Every line you see is fresh and untouched.

There are plenty of catski operations in the Kootenays, most of them offering one day and multiday packages. Stay at a luxurious backcountry lodge and enjoy nature with some amazing powder runs and fun apres ski activities. Relax at the Spa and indulge yourself with fabulous meals. Catskiing in the Canadian Kootenays is truly a dream come true and highly recommended if you want to explore some of the most incredible backcountry mountain ranges such as the Canadian Rockies, Selkirks, Purcells and Monashees.
